There are many ways to take care of pets, including: Food and water Provide your pet with a healthy, species-appropriate diet and access to fresh drinking water at all times. Exercise Regular exercise is important for your pet's health. For dogs, this could include walks, fetch, or time at the dog park. Grooming Grooming is important for your pet's health, and can include trimming nails, de-matting, and anal gland expression. Veterinary care Take your pet to the vet for regular check-ups and vaccinations. Vaccinations can help prevent diseases that could shorten your pet's life. Spaying or neutering Spaying or neutering your pet can help ensure a healthy and happy life, and can also help reduce the number of homeless animals. Identification Use collars, leashes, and proper identification when appropriate. Safety Identify and eliminate hazardous substances and situations, and use good judgment when exposing your pet to potentially stressful situations. Buckling up When driving with your pet, use a dog seatbelt to keep them safe and secure. Cleanliness Keep your pet's sleeping area and food and water bowls clean to reduce the risk of disease.
