I didn't know him but I loved the way he sang. The group was very popular back in their prime. There is one partly song that I loved that I sing with such pride and that is Elvira! My brother Toby who is no longer with me loved this song... he would try to sing the lower range to which in his dismay would fail miserably. lol Joe will be missed! Joe was a tenor, who sang the high pitched parts. Before I sold my record collection, I had almost every album that the Oaks had released, except some from the early gospel period. I also included a couple of their songs in my repertoire when I was a performing artist myself, like this one:

awesome... too bad he passed away from ALS. My family loved the group. I grew up listening to them when I was a child. Thank you for the youtube video.
